Well, Fuck

Apparently they managed to pass the big stupid bill. Expected, yes. But still, was hoping some common decency might have a chance to prevail. Why I even hoped for that, knowing full well that every one of my representatives from the oh-so-nice state of Nebraska would willingly throw every marginalized group they could find under the nearest bus given the chance, is a question better left for brighter days. All I know is that this is going to hurt just about everyone I know, because it’s going to hurt just about everyone.

And when those who I know voted for this madness come whining to me, I’m just going to have to let them know that I don’t give one tiny fuck about their miserable fucking life, because they asked for this. And then turn around and walk away.

Rot in hell.

boning in Omaha

I’m as big a homebody as you will find, but I try to make it out now and then to catch a little live music. So I jumped at the chance to catch Fishbone when my brother mentioned they were coming to town. Now, mind you, the last time I caught these guys was 1995ish at some festival whose name I will never recall, and I haven’t been following them at all in the last 30 years. So, coming in, I had no idea about their musical journey over that time. And wow, what a crazy show. Genre to genre all night, ska to lounge jazz to funk to spoken word to punk to, well, Fishbone. You just never knew what the next section of a song was going to feel like, much less the next song. And was really loving the Bad Brains vibe I was getting off-and-on all night! 🤘🏼

Eating My Own Dog Food

Well, since I harassed my son to release just a bit of something (tiny or massive) into the world, guess it’s time for me to start as well. And so, here’s a few words. Most of em not even mine! ;)

If you’re repeatedly drawn to a thought, feeling, or belief, write it out. Be fast, be sloppy.” - kupajo

Fanboying

Fanboying on Pulp and Glastonbury and Common People today. May have been thirty years from the first go around, and they (like all of us) may be a little older. But still managing to bring that energy. And a crowd cheering and singing and dancing, ah, it makes my heart swell! 🥹

You will never understand
How it feels to live your life
With no meaning or control
And with nowhere left to go
You are amazed that they exist
And they burn so bright whilst you can only wonder why.”

Make sure to piss off your local fascist Republican and install ICEBlock. And then use it consistently when/if you see any of these troglodytes around. Fuck these bigots.

Glastonbury Gives Me Hope

Had a well-spent Sunday evening watching live video after live video of this weekend’s Glastonbury Festival. Live music is always a beautiful thing; a crowd showing their love for that music is even better.

And I really needed that bit of hope after too much hopelessness.

walking thoughts

A 30mg gummy and a great playlist are all that are keeping me sane these days 🤪

So, get this: the light hitting the right side of my face has been traveling for 8ish minutes and 93-million-ish miles, only to be stopped by me? And you think this is real? 🤣😶🫥

I’ve got all this computing power in my hands, and yet I can’t listen to my headphones AND record my ramblings as I walk down the road? Too much is being siphoned to contribute to the reality hallucination project.

You know that feeling when a random playlist just hits? T’is that kinds of walk. Pleasantly long, pleasantly spring cool, but not need-a-jacket cool.

Ok, honestly, I’m a bit really high. 🤪
